Gas Turbine Maintenance Company

Gas Turbine Maintenance Company

Gas turbine maintenance companies play a critical role in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of gas turbines, which are vital components in various industries. These companies specialize in conducting regular gas turbine maintenance, inspections, gas turbine repairs, and upgrades to ensure that gas turbines operate at peak performance levels. With reputable gas turbine maintenance companies, businesses can benefit from professional services that adhere to industry best practices and standards. Partnering with trusted maintenance companies allows businesses to stay ahead of potential issues and minimize risks associated with equipment failure. Gas turbine maintenance companies serve as invaluable partners in helping businesses achieve operational excellence and maximize return on investment from their assets.

Gas Turbine Maintenance Inspections

With the team of seasoned professionals that have been established at BRTS®, we have the ability to work with all different sizes, makes and manufactures of gas turbines. When you contact us for your next gas turbine maintenance inspection, we will discuss in detail your needs and expectations. Knowing what you need and expect, we will put our best foot forward to meet your needs and exceed your expectations, with the objective of building a long-term business relationship founded on trust and integrity.

Borescope Inspection

Borescope inspection offers a cost-effective method to view the innermost parts of a turbine such as the gas path, rotor or the impeller blades that would otherwise be virtually impossible to see or reach without a resource intensive intrusive disassembly.

Our borescopes have both rigid and flexible length options, a lighting system, a high-quality optical system and an eyepiece to view the projected. Using flexible, articulating video borescopes to conduct the required inspections eliminates days of labor, rigging and gas turbine maintenance costs that it would otherwise take to disassemble a component of such size.

Combustion Inspection

DSC03957.JPG

One of the key controlling factors in the service life of a gas turbine engine is the inspection and cleaning of the hot combustion section. This section includes combustion liners and cans, end caps, fuel nozzle assemblies, crossfire tubes, and transition pieces. For example, the external combustion casing should be inspected for evidence of exhaust leaks, hotspots, and distortions before the casing is disassembled. After the combustion casing has been opened, the combustion chambers should be inspected for localized overheating, excessive wear, or cracks. The inspection includes that of the first stage turbine blades and nozzle guide vanes for warping, cracks, or foreign object damage, in addition to inspection of the combustion chamber outlet ducts and turbine fuel nozzle for blockages and cracks. Generally, combustion inspections are strongly recommended by OEMs at every 8,000 operating hours.

Hot Gas Path Inspection

Gas turbine components requiring some of the most extensive surveillance and condition monitoring are those exposed to the hot gases discharged from the combustion system section. The full scope of the hot gas path inspection includes the combustion system components and a detailed inspection of the turbine nozzles, stationary shrouds, turbine blades and buckets, bearings, rotor, and the casing. Hot gas path inspections are required at every 16,000 operating hours per most OEMs.

Major Overhaul

Gas Turbine Maintenance Company Overhaul

BRTS® offers a full range of major and minor overhauls including turbine, compressor, generator, control system and auxiliaries (intake, exhaust and fuel systems).  By proactively monitoring and managing risks and concentrating on the whole outage schedule, cost, and technical quality, we have developed a stellar record of completing overhauls on time, within budget and with exceptional quality for our clients. Most OEMs require a major overhaul after every 32,000 operating hours, as part of the recommended preventive gas turbine maintenance program.

Preliminary Data Analysis

BRTS® provides gas turbine alignment service and precision measurement solutions including:

Internal alignment

Shaft and coupling alignment; generator alignment

Turbine geometry, horizontal and vertical joint surface mapping

Turbine nozzle axial clearance, blade tip and bearing clearances, and more.

Our advanced measurement devices and skilled field service team empower us to measure quickly, accurately and precisely and develop targeted data-driven gas turbine repair strategies while retaining the data for longer term trending, if required. From installation to overhaul and gas turbine maintenance, our measurement solutions can outperform traditional methods saving valuable outage time and resources.

Gas Turbine Inspection & Assessment

With a complete offering of NDT/NDE inspection services, BRTS® is adept at detecting material flaws and defects sooner with a high POD (probability of detection). Our technologies detect even the smallest flaws in turbine componentry that could potentially limit asset operation and risk further damage. This allows our clients to optimize their inspection resources with reliable, repeatable, and accurate inspection techniques, designed to detect some of the most common failure modes for gas turbines, including corrosion, cracking, fatigue, weld defects and leaks.

A few of our NDT/NDE services include:

Eddy Current Inspection

Phased Array Ultrasound

Magnetic Particle Inspection

Liquid/Dye Penetrant Weld Inspection

Gas Turbine Repair Company

As a trusted gas turbine repair company, BRTS® has the tools to repair components, either on-site or at our network of gas turbine repair shops located across the country.

Gas turbine components are refurbished through a number of metallurgical processes that restore the component’s metallurgical and dimensional properties. We offer a wide range of component gas turbine repair and refurbishment services to make your equipment more reliable. We have developed innovative repair strategies that have been meticulously tested and qualified to ensure they provide optimal quality while remaining cost-effective. These methods provide various options, ranging from isolated repair of damaged shaft areas to preventative coatings applied on whole main rotor body. When faced with issues such as mechanical failures or wear and tear, a reliable gas turbine repair company can provide timely solutions to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.

We have the technological and technical capability to repair shafts with welding methods which involve pre- and post-weld heat treatments to ensure proper metallurgical/mechanical properties. Components are thoroughly inspected using industry-approved NDE/NDT methods. In most cases, these gas turbine repair methods result in significant reduction in costs and overall repair times.

BRTS® also offers gas turbine repair and preventative gas turbine maintenance options based on advanced coating technologies. We use several methods for applying these coatings, including:

Air spraying

Plasma spraying

Electric arc wire spraying

High-Velocity Oxygen Fuel spraying (HVOF) – liquid fuel and gas fuel

Once the gas turbine repairs are carried out, we can also take care of your shipping arrangements.

Additional Processes

After the main repair, reconditioning and coating, BRTS® can perform a number of additional operations, as required

Shot peening: To pre-stress (compressive) surfaces that are likely to be fatigue-prone, such as blade joints/roots, which extends fatigue cycle life

Blade balancing: Balanced as a set by moment-weight calculation and sorting; highly recommended to stay as close as possible to the original manufacturing sequence

Guide vane repair: They must be repaired to standardized throat openings

Replacement Parts

Hiring a reputable gas turbine repair company is essential for avoiding costly repairs and potential safety hazards. By partnering with a skilled team of technicians who specialize in gas turbine maintenance, companies can ensure that their equipment operates smoothly and reliably. The experience and knowledge offered by a professional gas turbine repair company play a significant role in enhancing the overall performance and reliability of industrial facilities powered by gas turbines.
